OHMIGODS!!!

Tara steps up to the microphone.

Tara: Folks, I'm exhausted, as are most if not all of you, so I'll be mercifully brief. From the entire staff at Simpson/Lynch Studios, I must thank you all for your participation! You have all helped to make this the Blogger event of the decade! Everyone's contribution was valuable in one way or another, so I don't dare single anyone out! (looks at Foxster) Yes, I know, David, that was a prepositional ending. Deal with it, lover. (scattered laughter) You've made this "job" of mine an absolute delight, and it's been a thrill meeting celebrities, personal idols, and some real people, too. (laughter) So as things wind down, let's just have music, and dancing, and get our little butts out of here by midnight so the Pleasantview cops don't have to raid the place! (laughter) But... no more surprises, okay? (laughter) Thank you all, and enjoy the rest of your evening. I love you! Goodnight. (Tara leaves the stage as the remaining guests applaud.)

  4. Thanks to all who attended, especially those who made it to the very end. We planned things to wrap up earlier, but with all the interaction in the comments sections of each post, we held back a bit more each time.

Stepping out of character here... What "Tara" said was meant by both -- not "all" -- of us.

  6. It took a lot of energy, and two pots of coffee for me in the real world. We'll see how long it'll be before we try to coordinate something that ambitious again!

  10. The Skipster says: We both thank you.

Gretchen says: Thank you for being here today. You have helped make it very memorable! I can't wait to tell my Uncle Kris!!!

  11. Whoa!! Big news and a big ending to this big blog event. Wow, congratulations Skip and Gretchen! I am thrilled for you. How ironic after all the surprises today.

I wont' even begin to tell you mine. I will say though escorted Ms. Marceau back to the jet fairly early and had to avoid Bruce Willis. Well, silly man, he got it in his head I would actually give him my real hair. No, not, no, i told him--i meant only for photos to be digitally cloned and enhanced on others, should they need a curly mop. Well, once he started brandishing the scissors, we quickly left, so there you go.

Thanks again for a brilliant party. Sweet Alabama indeed. :)

  12. The Skipster says: Thank you for your kind words, Mister Toast. LOL! Gretchen hasn't stopped talking since we've arrived home! She's ALREADY making plans for who she wants in the wedding party! Foxster: Best Man, natch. Tara: Maid Of Honour, natch. Uncle Kris: Giving her away. And she wants YOU as the Head Usher! Fancy THAT!!!

  13. Well, I never! Whoa. I'd be honoured.

  14. Mr. Toast, I'm so glad to see that you'll be there! And y'know, I feel almost responsible, in a way. It seems like just the other day -- in fact, it was; it was Monday! -- That I gave my learned advice: "Take things slowly. Slowly." Heh. I'm so glad the Skipster's little surprise worked out for both of them!

  15. @Megan: Well, this was an all-day Blogger event...

  16. Well, it is after 1 a.m. Cali-for-n-i-a time. We are used to the clean up shift out here on the left coast. But, I have to tell you, that Skip and Gretchen's little surprise really set me back a few paces.

But, what the hey? I'm good at weddings and look forward to the SOS call!

Great party and I hope I am the last pos till tomorrow. I like to count on my own party endurance if nothing else.

    GREAT PARTY!
    How many hours?

  17. Dropping character here, somewhat:

Well, Lizzie needed a ride on the SnL One, so we took off to pick her up on Monday, a bit before 10 p.m., Massachusetts time. (In the real world, I live there, and Skip lives in Alabama.) And things kept up through the night, with a slight lull in the action before people started arriving in the early morning. When the Foxster said he'd only gotten an hour of sleep on the jet, he/I was referring to the fact that I only got a quick one-hour nap myself.

So, we posted the final chapter a little after ten p.m. Tuesday night, so that makes around 25 hours, pretty much non-stop, during which I got one hour of sleep.

  25. From the real world, quite impressive. From the virtual whoopee!! I really don't know one from the other in this situation since I just got invited. Now you know I am planning a Kentucky Derby Party on the first Saturday in May. We have our own suite on Millionaire's Row for Derby Day. Hats ladies, hats.
